Hi,

After a long battle with trojans I finally have a clean system thanks to you guys. However, I can't change my background or wallpaper from the properties facility. The tile / cantre / stretch drop down is grayed out, and if I pick a different background from the list, it just reverts to "none". It's not a big problem, but very annoying.

Thanks for any help.

It sounds like--sounds like-- you have a policy restriction in place

Can you run regedit?

Export the following keys

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

Open them in notepad and post them here.
