I plug in my external hardrive and the light comes on to say it's plugged in but nothing shows up in my computer.
I plug in my iPod and it turns on and charges but does not show up in itunes
I plug in a memory stick and it lights up but doesn't show up in my computer either.

Anyone know how I Can solve this problem without buying a pci card?

Thanks

It looks like you have a connection problem at the motherboard, or the wires that supply the data on that specific USB port have been severed. Is this port in the back of the computer or the front. Regardless for right now go to the opposite end of the computer, and plug a device in there. Can you see the data on it? The goal is to use another USB port connected to the motherboard via a different port so I can test this theory.

Please do this test for me then post back and let me know how it worked...:)

Good Luck
