I have a old dell laptop, it is running windows 2000 and I need to get into setup to set " boot to CD". I have tried pressing F1 because it says setup on he key. Nothing happens it will boot right past. Is there anyother way to get into setup. Thanks

I have tried pressing F1 because it says setup on he key

does it say this literally on the button? during boot read your screen...there should be a bunch of text...it should say something about entering setup or bios...does it say f1? (usually it's f2 or del)...does your keyboard have an "F-Lock" button?

Yes it states on the F1 key " setup" There is no F-Lock key and there is no writting at the start of boot to press a key for setup.

Thanks for the help but none of those options work. FN + F1 key, F2 nothing.

I'm pressing the keys like I normaly do. Press FN and then F1 or just Press F1, there no secret to pressing the keys. I can get F8 to respond but can't get the F1 key to let me into setup. It is printed right on top on the keySetup. Thanks
