My sister was working on a college assignment and seems to have lost 95% of it from saving an early draft over the latest version which was completed.

What happened was that she was saving the assingment on her usb key as she did it, then she copied a version from her desktop which had nothing in it, put it on the USB key, and thus over-wrote it.

Any ideas on how to fix that ? I am no MAC guru thats for sure. Some ideas that did cross my head were

1 - File recovery program. Although since the file was over-written rather than deleted probably not feasible.
2 - System restore. How do you do this in a MAC ? Would that show the previous version that was on a USB key though ? Unlikely I feel.
3 - Maybe there is a temp file of the previous version saved by Powerpoint automatically ? How would I go about finding and restoring it ?

Or is it doomed ?
