Acrobat Reader 4.0 (on my W98 pc) frequently fails to open. I get an error message that says only that an error occurred and the program will be closed.

Can I just download a fresh copy? Where can I get it? Do I \should I uninsatall the current copy first?

Thanks.

It's better to ditch Acrobat Reader altogether, and switch to FoxIt Reader: http://www.filehippo...download_foxit/
It does very same thing, it's faster, and smaller.

Brioni" Thanks for the suggestion . But the FoxReader doesn't appear to support W98, or am I misreading it?

You're right.
You should be fine with Acrobat Reader ver. 6.0: http://www.filehippo...reader/tech/12/
It says, all Windows supported.

Tried it. Seemed to download ok but got stuck during the installation. Got this message: "Adobe Reader 6.0.1 Installer Information:The operating system is not supported. Setup will now terminate."
