Many thanks to my computer's guardian angel, Jimmy2012! He stayed on my computer issues until everything was working at least as well as it was prior to the infection--probably even better. He showed great patience and expertise, and has motivated me to seek a GeekU certification myself.

Thanks again to Jimmy and to all on this board. While the knowledge that there are jags out there who will try to screw up people's computers, and thus their lives just for fun, having folks like those at Geekstogo who will try to make things right without condition tends to restore my faith in humanity. And to wax long-winded.

...and let me add my own thank-you...he has just walked me through one of my computers which has a minor issue; through his efforts and patience we have ruled out malware as a cause. It's been a pleasure working with him...
