I have xp pro corp and a sp2 update disc, which I have used often.
Today I saw a NEW thing. After putting on xp pro and sp2, I
installed Norton Utilities 2002, and a theme which I like
(from another PC) and when I next looked, all the options in the
windows firewall were greyed out and it said at the top of the page
that it was due to group policy!

Thing is, I hadn't even installed (let alone used) the group policy add-in
so how can that have happened?

Interestingly, there are 6 or 7 other services disabled which should
not be and firewall is just one of these.

Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Cheers.
