Hi, a friend of mine has got a strange problem. Since it is not my problem, but a friend's one, so I am sorry that I would not probably be able to give much details.

The problem:

1. He tried 'AVG & Norton 2009' but none would allow him to 'Live Update'.
2. But he can browse websites & sign in windows live messenger.
3. He has a Router, uses a Wireless Connection, and has windows XP.

I was just curious what the problem could be?

If anyone got any ideas? or what might possibly be the different causes of this problem?

try this. It seems to be a corrupt file causing your problem

Delete the file Luinsdll.dll

1
Start Windows Explorer.

2
Browse to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate

3
In the right pane, locate and select Luinsdll.dll.

4
Press Delete, and then click Yes to confirm.

5. Download and install the latest version of LiveUpdate
