I just started getting memory errors today. They are saying I need to close programs because there is not enough memory. These are programs I have been running forever. It is even shutting doen programs while I'm using them because it claims there is not enough memory.

here is one that shut down a program

This may be a dumb question, but does all of your ram show up? I have seen peoples computers have 512MB and it shows 430MB. For some reason some contacts go bad and it dumps PORTIONS of the chips. Just a thought.

I have a 512 stick and a 256 stick

I go onto control panel and it shows there being 768mb, which seems fine to me.

My beef is that it just started TODAY with this mumbo jumbo.

My only other though is by any chance is yoru HD close to full? When you use more RAM than you have, the computer will store extra in the pagefile.
