Go Start>Run (Start Search in Vista), type in:
msconfig
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).
Click on Startup tab.
Click Disable all
Click Services tab.
Put checkmark in Hide all Microsoft services
Click Disable all.
Click OK.
Restart computer in Normal Mode.
NOTE. If you use different firewall, than Windows firewall, turn Windows firewall on, just for this test, since your regular firewall won't be running.
If you use Windows firewall, you're fine.
Same slowness?

Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")
- security programs in use (antivirus, firewall)
Any recent software/hardware changes?
What USB devices do you have plugged in?

Download Autoruns for Windows: http://technet.micro...s/bb963902.aspx
No installation required.
Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.
Go File>Save As, and save AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
Attach the file to your next reply.

I don't see anything unusual.
If there is no hardware problem, I'd give Norton a shot, and uninstall it temporarily.
If you want to try it, use this tool: http://service1.syma...005033108162039
If you do so, make sure to turn Windows firewall on for the time of testing.

Contact Norton for advice about reinstalling your product. There is advice about this on the page where you download the Norton Removal Tool (in Broni's post above).

Yeah, if you purchased it, they should have all necessary info for you, so you can re-download it.
