I have a gateway E-2100

It crashed about 3 days ago April 7.I do not have the original Xp disc so i made a new Disc on my laptop.Everything loaded fine so i loaded the computer and such and plugged my Ethernet cord to the pc.Nothing happen can not connect to internet or even make a new connection.
So i was wondering can you guys really help me because :4-dontkno what to do

I am assuming that you were able to boot up to Windows XP.

I think that you have not yet installed the drivers for your ethernet network adapter. Based on Gateway's support website, your computer may have either an Intel/Pro 1000MT or an Intel/Pro 100VE. I suggest getting the latest drivers from Intel.
