First, we will disable some programs as they get in the way.

Disable SpywareGuard:

Right click the running icon of Spywareguard, it will open the program.
Then go to Menu, file, exit.
Then confirm the program is closed.
Reverse the process when you’ve carried out the advise.

We need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Reverse the process when you’ve carried out the advise.

I uninstalled Spyguard to make sure it wouldn't be in the way, and, since I noticed that the unchecked items in my Microsoft AntiSpyware settings would automatically "recheck" as soon as I'd save my setings, I uninstalled it too.

I scanned with HijackThis and fixed the two items you told me to fix. I then ran a scan with AdAware and Spybot and they both didn't find anything. I checked on HijackThis, and the Explorer Search Bar items were gone.

I downloaded MS AntiSpyware again and ran a scan...it found the malware again, located in my IE Search Bar. So I ran another scan with HijackThis and found that the Search Bar items had reappeared.

Removing the job, removing the programs I advised you, disabling the security; it should have been enough.

You installed Spyhunter in the mean time. Please remove it again.
SpyHunter -- at least in its current state -- cannot be recommended because of its mediocre performance as an anti-spyware scanner.
Reboot after removing that.

Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected)

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Be sure nothing else is open, not even this window.
Put a check to these two items:

Then close HijackThis and reboot.

Open HijackThis again.
If the lines come back again:

* Please rightclick this link to download Silent Runners.
* Save it to the desktop.
* Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
* You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done yet, just let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
* Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click on the new text file on the desktop and copy that entire log and paste it here.

*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.
For some time it will look like nothing is happening. Just keep waiting.
Once it's done it will create a log. A window will come up telling you when it's saved.

Yes, the lines keep coming back, and I don't know if this is related to something I did in the previous processes, but my browser's favorite folder is missing some of my recent bookmarks. Anyway, I saved "Silent Runners" to my desktop...it will only save as a text file, in a format that my computer won't open cause it lacks the right application to make it work, or so it says.

Doubleclick it and it will create the file C:\findlop.txt
Find that file and copy the content into your next post.


Also:
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
In the command prompt use this command:

assoc .vbs=VBSFile Note the space behind assoc

That should get Silentrunners on the way.
Then run silentrunners and post me the results.
