Inspiron 9300 Wont Turn On After unhooking LCD.

My Dell Inspiron 9300 had these lines running horizontal so I unhooked the LCD screen and plugged in one of my screens from an older laptop an inspiron 8600 to see if the lines were still there but the laptop wouldn't turn on. Then I put my LCD screen that I had been having problems with back in the laptop and tried to power up the machine and for some reason now it starts for like 5 seconds the lights flash then the the machine turns off. I was wondering anyone knows why the laptop would all of a sudden just start doing this? I was thinking maybe I did something to the machine when I hooked up the different lcd screen to the laptop, could that be what caused the problem.? I would really appreciate any advice or information. Thanks
