All instructions that I give you need to be preformed on the non working system unless otherwise specified.

When you try to start notepad what happens on the non working system?

daemon23,

We need to check to make sure all your drivers are installed.

  • Please click on start.
  • Click on run
  • Type in devmgmt.msc and press enter.
  • In there do you see anything with a ? a ! or a X if so let me know
  • If you see other devices let me know what it says under it.

its a custom built computer. Do you need the motherboard info? also now i am having problems with my monitor or graphics card >< it keeps doing no signal input check video cables after about 2 mintues of being on the desktop screen. Then the only way it will work is if i restart the computer. i feel like my computers dying...
