Burning MVK Files

I have an MVK file i want to burn to disc,i use nero 9 but it does not seem to accept MVK.
i see from the forum that i can maybe use Any Video Converter to convert it to AVI but i have a few questions......
1. Will nero 9 not burn MVK's(or can i just not work out how to do it?)
2. If i convert MVK to AVI using a program like Any Video Converter will that affect the quality?
