Yes this cooler is compatible with the AM2 processor

Looking at your other question about the other coolers. I would say it is all a matter of personal preference and how thick your wallet is.

All of the coolers you pointed out will do a great job cooling...(as long as they are AM2 compatable)

What happened to your OEM cooler?

Or just going for the "cool" factor?

Its ok I would to, I just haven't yet.

Your system is not really hyped up so you should be fine with another OEM cooler, if you can find one.
Or if you don't want to spend the money on a new one.
