Does it matter what watt of a ac adapter i get? if it does. what kind does this laptop originally come with.

Prices vary a lot.

Wattage should match or be higher provided the rated voltage is the same as needed for the laptop. The rated specs: 19V 4.74A 90W.

I would be leery of buying that one. I didn't see the specs listed and it is made in China. Doesn't look like a real HP replacement.

What was wrong with the sources I gave? I just don't trust anything on eBay. Never had any problems buying from Amazon.com, TigerDirect or NewEgg.com.

I would buy from a reputable dealer like Amazon. Major Payne supplied several which will work. I checked them out and they look like what you need.

If you just need a cord, you could probably buy a replacement cord at any good electronics store. Office Depot or OfficeMax. Maybe even RadioShack. That is, if it is only the ac cord part you need. The other cord could be repaired, but only if you are technically inclined for a project like that.
