Hi tuxmaster,

I did that and did not get the error message with any of the dvds and cds.

However they will not autorun although they show in My Computer and are set to Prompt for Action in the disc Properties.

I personally like autorun turned off that way there is no way for something to run without my knowledge.

Hi,
With a lot of my research on dvds I would prefer the autorun to work.

You said that it is set to ask you what to do. Does it do this?

Hi happyrock

Re "as for your original issue with not being able to connect"

I can connect ok now.

It was found to be a combination of a virus in my computer and a virus attack on the actual site. Since then the site and my computer now have a clean bill of health. The non autostart/run is a problem that has developed from that and the cleanup.

Microsoft fixed a hole in the AutoRun function of older Windows versions that allowed viruses to spread via external storage devices...
the Conficker worm has been spreading across networks, often entering systems via USB flash drives and other removable media...
Microsoft's has suggested setting to disable AutoRun ..For security reasons, it's strongly recommended you disable AutoRun for all devices.
if you still want to enable autorun after knowing the above go here...
just know that if you do theres a good chance you'll be back..the next time though, will be in the malware forums

Hi happyrock,

In which case forget Autorun/play.

I would rather that than a virus
