My computer has been having huge issues...I have even tried to address it here, and the final decision is that I have to bite the bullet and reformat and reinstall XP. My main question is how to keep as much of my current info and such as I can. I have heard of ghosting a drive, but am not really sure what that all means. Right now I am wondering if there is a way to save the programs I have loaded and still use them once I reinstall windows XP. Is there some way to do this? I don't have all the CDs for the programs I once installed eons ago! Also, I worry about possibly losing some data that I have and may not have saved in the logical My Documents. Silly me for trying to be 'smart' LOL

Programs are not transferable between computer to computer. You would have to re-install them again if you want to use them after you wipe the computer.
