Question, I am still however having the low virtual memory message pop-up, it only started when I had these start-up issues. I notice however under performance options that the total paging file size for all drives is set to 744MB, if I increase this number will it help to resolve this low virtual memory issue? Should I open a new topic for this?

How much RAM do you have installed on your computer? To find out use the hotkey WIN (the key with the Windows logo on it) + Pause/Break
This will open the System Properties box. Under the "General" tab, the amount of RAM installed will be shown. You might want to increase the page file size, but we will know how much to increase it only if we know how much RAM you have installed.

As for the startup issue, you should try to find the startup item that is causing boot up to be slow.
