I just bought a new D-Link Xreme N Gigabit router (DIR-655). I followed the instructions on the cd that it came with and setup everything. My laptop can detect the wireless network. I even setup a password. However, when I type in the key and try to connect it never does. Three seconds later it simply gives me the option "Diagnose the Problem" or "Connect to a different network." What am I doing wrong?

P.S. My friend told me to go online to the routers website and clone its my pcs mac address. I did that and added my computer to the routers DHCP Reservation list. However, I still cannot connect to the wireless. If I attach an ethernet cable to the router I can access the internet though...
