I must be dumb as rocks.
Trying to duplex print with an HP 2300d and OpenOffice.
Is duplex printing controlled by the driver, the printer or the software?
I've used different drivers from HP's website.
http://h20000.www2.h...p;swEnvOID=2030
I've set the printer several different ways with no luck.
OpenOffice only shows manual duplex printing whereas the HP 2300d is suppose to do automatic duplex printing.

Any help appreciated.

It is done by the driver. Note that "automatic" does not mean duplex mode is automatically selected when you send a multipage print job. Automatic duplex simply means you don't have to turn the paper over to print the other side, the printer automatically does it for you. For my HP and MS Word, I cannot simply press the print button as it will print in simplex mode - I have to select two-sided printing for each print job that I want two sided printing.

The one for an HP OJ-7140xi inkjet - probably not the same as needed for your 2300D laser.
