Help with USB drive?

Hello when i plug a USB drive into my computer it doesn't recognize it. It makes the little ding noise when i plug it in but on My computer it isn't shown. When i plug my camera in through USB it works but not when i plug in a USB drive. I have Windows XP can someone help me with this problem!

I recommend to reinstall your device driver for it.

Reconnect the camera and make sure it is recognized by the system.
Right click on My Computer, and click manage. Then, click Device Manager.

Right click on the camera device and click Uninstall.
Disconnect the camera.

Restart your machine.

Reconnect your camera. If prompted to install drivers, insert your install disc for the drivers.

ummm I no expert but I think he said his camera was working, but not a usb drive. by usb drive I assume you mean usb flash drive?
