this is getting rather agitating.
Heres the story:
when I boot the computer (or attempt to) the screen will be black, and nothing will show up until I restart it a few more times, when it will then go to the screen telling me to press the F12 key to enter setup and whatnot.
(no, pressing these keys DO NOT have an effect)
I am then required to keep hitting the restart button until finally windows pops up and boots.
I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem? and how they resolved it?
is it a driver problem involving the Bios?
I have tried to use the disc that came with the computer that holds all the drivers to install the Bios software (if there is any)
BUT when I put the disc in the drive it doesnt open, but I am directed to a message stating "This application has failed to start because ntvdm.exe was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Is there a place I can download this .exe file?
Ive been looking around google for quite some time now, but nothing.
Ive got an AMD athlon 6000+ 64 dual core 3.0ghz
Windows XP pro SP2 (32 bit)
radeon 3870 x2 1 gig
