I cannot copy the files and paste them elsewhere. I have tried to change the permissions on every folder but It gets a bit complicated. I have got screenshots to show you guys what is the problem, so maybe more of you could help me out in this situation.

I cannot click on the permission settings(Part that is circled). But advanced tab is enabled.

I think the best option is to take the drive out of the computer and it should have a label on how to change the jumpers and make it a slave drive. You also have to take the drive out of the other computer and set the jumpers on it to show it is a master drive with a slave. Do you think you could do this or would you like to keep going and see if we can work around it the way it is now ?

I think we should do it connected up to the original computer first, and if it doesn't work we can try making it a slave. But its your call since you are the one helping me. :tazz:

[bleep]! Does not let me in. I guess we will be having to set this up in slave mode. There is no instructions on the HD itself, so I dont know how to do this. This computer was also recieved in a ready assemled package so I do not have an instruction booklets. If you know how to set up a HD in slave mode please let me know how, the model number is:
ST380013AS (80gb Barracuda 7200.7 Seagate)

I will also be looking up on how to set this up as a slave.

Thanks for all your help, your doing a great job so far! :tazz:

We may not be able to do that after reading this ?

By chance does your other computer have the same type of drive?
or is this drive connected straight to the mother board or to another card?
I think your new computer might have an IDE drive. If the segate is connected to a board then we could be ok.
Lets step back a bit.
go to cotrol panel > user accounts. How many users does it show?
does it say your account has admin rights?

Just to let you know, the HD fits directly onto the board on this computer. I will try to re-create the profile soon, after I figure out how to on the site page you pointed me to.
