On Java site, when it says, Java is not installed, does it prompt you for any update?

Verifying Java Version
Oops! You don't have the Java installed or you have a version less than 1.4.2
Please click the button below to get the recommended Java for your computer.

NOTE: If you recently completed your Java software installation, you may need to restart your browser (close all browser windows and re-open) before verifying your installation.
Download Free Java for Windows
Windows Vista, XP, and 2000 Server
Version 6 Update 13
Download Java Now

That's what it says on the website. I tried their little java tester and opera told me that I needed to install Java.

It goes to the download page. I download one, then it asks me if I want to run, save etc. When I run it, it says that it has already been installed, do you want to reinstall it?

Hmmm....funny thing, because I went to Java verification page with my Vista, and it says.....Oooops! too.
Must be some glitch there.
However, if I click on Test your Java Virtual Machine (JVM), it says I have the latest version installed.
I'm not experiencing any other problems, though.

I went there one more time, and....

Congratulations!
You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 13).

I have no clue what's going on.

If you mean in add/remove, yes, the installer does open.

No Add\Remove. You should have Java icon in main Control Panel window:

Uninstall Java one more time, using Revo Uninstaller: http://www.revouninstaller.com/
Look for any Java related entries.
Restart computer.

Get Windows Installer CleanUp Utility: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Look for any Java entries.

Install fresh Java copy.

Java uninstalled in Revo fine, but inevitably...

This error came up when I tried to run the Uninstaller Utility (msicuu2.exe)

Update: I ran cmd as admin, and typed regsvr32 vbscript. msicuu2 now works if I run as admin.

Update 2: Installed successfully, but how do I actually run it? I don't know where its been installed.
