I tried to install AVG 8.5 - trial version, not the free one. After what I thought was a succesful installation, Windows will not fully boot. It will load to the point that my desktop pic shows and then logs off. Any ideas?

Try to reboot and at the second black post screen start tapping F8 to get to the boot menu.

Scroll down to the line that says Last Know Good Configuration
click enter and the system will continue to boot up. Let me know if it makes it all the way in to windows.
If not then repeat the steps and try Safe Mode

If it's Win 98, Last Know Good Configuration option is not there.
AVG 8.5 is not even compatible with Win 98.
