all in one hp psc 1315 not recognized

hi,

i am using windows xp sp2. for some reason which i cannot figure out, the usb port does not recognize my printer. i have tried uninstalling the printer and runnning gr_unis from hp but with no success. please help...any ideas?

Have you tried the printer in another USB port?
Without looking it up, can you tell me if the printer works in USB 1.1 or 2.o (enhanced)?
Some printers are not backward compatible to 1.1
Are your USB ports 2.0 version? Go to start/ run and type in devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
Expand out the USB area. You should see an enhanced controller. Also USB 2.0 root hub

Is this a new problem, or has the printer connected previously?
