I got a WD 250 SATA hard drive, ordered a closure case off ebay and when it came its a 2.5 case instead of a 3.5. I put the adaptor on the end of the hardrive and plugged in to USB and its not recognizing. Could this be cause its made for a 2.5? or is there something else wrong? Thanks for the help

Does the 2.5" enclosure have a power port? MOst 2.5" drives can run off of USB power, while 3.5" drives need an additional power source.
