i was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem, it is the first time i've seen this.
when typing www.google.co.uk it is trying to open www.www.google.co.uk.net
any help is greatly appreciated.

Google was recently hammered by a massive denial of service attack...they may have moved their servers

not to do with denial, this happens with every site trying to visit, goolge was just an example.
