I had posted this in the wrong forum. I had gotten some help but they suggested I re-post it in the correct forum. I can not get my anvsoft program opened. I keep getting the error MFC42.DLL

Here's the link that i had originally posted: http://www.geekstogo...or-t236903.html
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Molly :)

What programs are NOT running?

Were you able to execute sfc /scannow command?

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32, right click on MFC42.DLL, click Properties, then Details tab.
What File version do you have?

Navigate to: C:\Windows\Minidump folder.
If you see any .dmp files, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply.

Which one of these: http://www.anvsoft.com/

it's version: 6.6.8063.0

I have very same version, however the file may be corrupted. We'll get there.

First, try this...
Click Start
In "Start search" type in:
cmd
Hold CTRL, and SHIFT, hit Enter.
At command prompt, type in:
regsvr32 /u mfc42.dll (<----watch for "spaces")
Hit Enter.
Type in:
regsvr32 mfc42.dll
Hit Enter.
Restart computer.
See, if the problem persist.
If so, reinstall offending program.

If still no good....

I did the sfc /scannow and it didn't come up with anything. didn't ask for cd nor left me any "messages"

In Vista you should receive the following message: "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations", if no errors were found.

Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder. You'll see CBS.log file.
Usually, it's pretty big file, so upload it here: http://www.filedropper.com/, and post download link.

Are you still getting any BSOD errors, because your last dump file is way back from 04/19/09?

Did you go through regsvr32 commands?

under: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder.
the names i have is cbs.bld, cbs, and cbs.persist

In Windows Explorer, click on Tools>Folder options>View tab, and UN-check "Hide extensions for known file types".
Now, you should be able to see cbs.log

Your reply is not readable.

I'm asking you for the 3rd, and last time:
