I have an Excel spreadsheet with columns A-G. When I do a Save As... Tab Delimited, it is successful, but it is saving many extra columns, so that each line ends with 15-25 extra tabs. Unless I go through and remove all the extra tabs, the file won't work in the program it is feeding.

Any suggestions on how to create the tab delimited document without extra columns represented?

Thanks!

I tried opening the file in Google Docs, and then saved as a text file and it worked beautifully. I'm sure there is a way to do it in Excel, though, so if you have ideas, please let me know.

The last column contains up to 800 characters of text. Perhaps Excel is adding columns to compensate for that extra text?
