I'm sorry we are busy and try to get to everyone.
Please follow the next steps so I can get some info about your system and find the needed drivers for you.

Download and install EVEREST
Open it.
1: In left pane expand Computer folder.
2: Click once on Summary
3: In upper menu, go Report
4: [And then to b]Quick Report-Summary
5: Save it in text file, and paste it in your next post.

PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING UNDER THE LINE DEBUG- PCI

Please Go to
1: STARTand the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter
4. Look for any entries with Yellow Exclamation marks or Red X's

In your next reply please include those results

Via Hd Audio Codec VT1708 Paired With VT8237A/VT8251/CX700(M)

This is the Audio driver for your MOBO

Congratulations for sound being returned.
Now for dvd issue. Can you please re-explain that as I'm not sure what is happening.
Can you burn dvd's or cd's at all even with a new disk?

Please don't PM me as I am not always here. I have been here for over 18 hours so I'm a little slower now :)

What are you burning that is over 2 gigs and what program are you using that won't work?
If dvd's play then the drive is seeing them. your problem sounds more like software not seeing dvd's correctly

Nero should have no problems with burning files as I use it and have burned home movies up to 4.2 gigs in size with no problem.
What format are the movies in?
Mov, Avi, Divx, WMF

Also you have to change the setting in Nero to tell it if you are using Cd's or DVD's
