did you try chkdsk /r from the recovery console yet..

did you try chkdsk /r from the recovery console yet..

not yet - after trying FIXBOOT & FIXMBR - they appear to have caused more issues...

now - testdisk does not correctly identify my main partition as NTFS - but FAT12???..... and now it's also reporting the incorrect size for my main partition.

Both were accurate according to testdisk (and other utilities) before trying the FIXBOOT/FIXMBR suggestion.
