Hi...thanks for reading. I have apparently been infected. My computer, overnight, went from normal startup to a four hour startup. Once the desktop is up and running, it takes 20-30 minutes to access any program (e-mail, internet, quicken, etc.) The only things that seem to be operating properly are the mouse, Sys tray and task bar.

Task manager shows the system is running at 100% at all times. The fan runs constantly.

Safe Mode startup work fine...all utilities function properly, however I cannot access the internet in safe mode (or perhaps I don't know how to access it in safe mode).

Norton AV scans run clean. Windows defender is resident program. Ad-aware is non-resident. Both run clean (it takes HOURS for any scan to run, whereas previoiusly I was able to run full scans in 1 1/2 hours)

I did manage to run hijack this, and saved a log file, which I will send if requested.

Your help would be most appreciated.
