I`m having a problem with my AVG protection.I was more than happy with the AVG 7.5 but I guess it is now outdated. So I downloaded the new AVG 8.5. My problem is that when it scans it eats up way too much of my memory & slows down my computer way too much. Not only that but I find it scans way to often for long periods of time.I know one solution would be to increase my memory but it`s not in my budget at this time.Could somebody please send me a link for a free download that is equal in protection or better than the AVG but won`t eat up so much of my memory?
Thanks! :)

Avast in my signature below is free and not a big memory hog like AVG.
Register it for a year and after that year just reregister and keep going.
Also make sure you uninstall AVG completely using their uninstall tool. Running more then one AV can be a serious problem.

Is it titled Free Home Edition? I don`t see that as one of the choices.

This is the heading at the top of the page:

"Download FREE antivirus software - avast! Home Edition"

If your default language is English then just click the "DOWNLOAD NOW" button. If you want it in a different language then chose one of the links below that.
