I can't remove Altnet! I've tried Registry Mechanic, Spybot S & D, Ad-Aware and A-Squared but nothing will shift it.

It is installed when user's don't read the EULA ( End User Licensing Agreement), you know all those words that pop up that you have to click "I ACCEPT" to. If you don't uninstall it until we are through, your infection will not be cleaned up!
If you wish to re-install MessengerPlus3 when we are finished cleaning you up, you need to
Make sure you click "I refuse, do not install the sponsor program".

Also, we recommend the removal of LimeWire. It is a known Malware carrier. Continuing to use it will leave you wide open to re-infection, no matter how well "protected" you think your computer is.

Now, let's begin!

Please reboot your computer into Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as the pc begins to boot. That will take you to a screen which will allow you to choose to enter Safe Mode.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Well the main prob I was having was removing Altnet from the registry, and it's still there I don't quite know what to do!

What is telling you that you have Altnet showing in your registry?? There is nothing on your system indicating you have Altnet. Are you receiving some type of error or something?

Well when I run checks with Spy Sweeper and various other programs it says it's still lurking in registry files, and when I go to regedit I can still see it there bu am unable to delete it

Reboot into Safe Mode and double click on the regfile.reg and allow it to merge with the registry.

Then reboot normally and run SpySweeper, and let me know how that comes back!!

Did you try this from the Administrator account? If not, would you please try it again, only in Safe Mode this time?

If that does not work, please download this zip file called altnet.zip. Please extract to a folder and run the bat file, then post the resulting altnet.txt

I tried the registry thing in safe mode on the admin account but it had no effect. I can't access the link to the zip file you gave me as an error message came up saying I don't have the priviledges to acces the file
