Hello, I am running a custom build comp with windows xp. I just yesterday formatted the drive and put a fresh copy of windows xp media center on. Today i installed all my drivers fine but mid way thought installing my Norton anti virus software my computer froze. Complete lockout could ctrl alt dlt or anything. When i restarted my comp it loaded windows and then went to a black screen and i couldn't move my mouse it was stuck at an hourglass. I have read alot of people having the same problem but nothing helped me. I unplugged everything but my mouse and keyboard they are not usb. I tried running the windows recovery system. I used "fixboot" and then "fixmbr" but "fixmbr" gave me a warning not to do unless i was having issues to avoid permanent damage so i didn't. I then ran "chkdsk /r" it ran and then restarted my comp and im sitting at the same thing.

If anyone has any other ideas please help.

-Many Thanks James
