Go HERE and scroll down till you find the Sound heading and under that you will see this:

Driver Name Realtek High Definition Audio Driver
Version 2.04 (5700)
Release Date 2008/09/09

Update Description
Special Note
File Size 46.9MB
Support O.S Windows XP ; Windows XP 64bit edition ; Windows Vista 64bit ; Windows Vista 32bit

This is the driver you want. Under this you will see the links to the driver with the following:

Taiwan USA Europe china

Most likely pick USA and download then install the driver. You may be prompted to reboot. If so then do and check your sound then. Let me know if it works then. :)

Download Realtek AC97 driver

Go to the link and get the AC97 HD driver and install it.
Go back to post 10 and revisit the site there. Find the chipset driver and install that. It may fix the problem also
