You may have to get a Add-on Sound Card
The other thing is to uninstall the HD and then reboot. Let windows find it again and see if that will load then correctly.

Are you doing it thru Device Manager?

Please Go to
1: STARTand the click on RUN
2: Type in devmgmt.msc
3: Click Enter
4. Look for any entries with Yellow Exclamation marks or Red X's

Make sure the ones with the above marks are visible and then take a screenshot.

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start
All Programs
Accessories
Paint
In the empty white area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your desktop

We might have to get an Addon Card now.
You have one PCI-e 1X slot, that we could use.

Go Tigerdirect for a 5.1 surround sound card starting as low as 10.00 dollars.

Go Newegg starting at 8.00 dollars.

It is a personal preference as to manufacturer but i use Sound Blaster myself.
You can click on Manufacturer in drop down menu on the left of Newegg screen and try the different ones if you like.
