Ok so my laptop stopped working back in November when it decided it didn't want to start up for me anymore. When I start my computer up the initial screen shows and then runs to the next screen where it says www.dell.com at the top, after this it just says PBR 2....done and goes no further. I took it to someone at Best Buy and he told me that I would have to get a whole new hard drive. My friend who is very good with computers told me to get a second opinion because he could have been trying to scam. So what does everyone think I should do? I haven't even attempted to get it fixed.

Lets make sure that the hard disk is ok.
Download Seatools from here: http://www.seagate.c...ols/seatooldreg
Download the Graphical v.2.13 ISO CD-ROM IMAGE EN.

Then download BurnCDCC from here: http://www.terabyteu...ee-software.htm
Use that program to burn the ISO you downloaded earlier to a disc.

Read this tutorial: http://seagate.custk...sp?DocId=201271
Boot from the CD, and run the long diagnostic.
Post back with the results.
