Error Messages, Anti-Virus Quit Working, No Permissions

I am having several issues with my computer. I am always getting access is denied error message when trying to uninstall a program and when I download one it says I dont have the permission to open the file. I dont know when this started but I cant find a solution and even now my anti-virus program isnt working anymore. Can anyone help me with this. Here is other information that might help you.

1. I am logged in as administrator
2. Cannot uninstall in Safe Mode
3. Set up administrator account for my user with new password
4. Using windows XP with Windows Service Pack 3

I tried to run Hijackthis but it said I didn't have permission.

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post an OTListIt log in THAT forum.
