For now, leave the external drive out of the picture. We need to find out, why your computer is slow.
Unplug external drive, and leave it there. Eventually, you can plug it into another computer, and see, if it's recognized there.
With external drive unplugged, repeat steps from my reply #12, restart computer, and tell us what exactly is slow.

Did you read my previous reply?
Did you unplug it, and move at least 2 yards from the computer, so it doesn't itch you to plug it back in?
Did you check external drive on another computer?

Continuing this thread the way, it's been going so far, we won't finish before Christmas....

Sorry i took a wile but i had to wait for my friend to bring his laptop so i can plug my external hardd disk drive into his computer.
I pluged it into his laptop and this came up:

The perametor is incorrect.

What should i do now?

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.

If this does not work then:

Go to:
Start and then My Computer
Right Click On "C" drive and then click on Properties
Click on Tools tab at the top
In the Error Checking field click Check Now

When that is done

Download Auslogics Defrag from the link in my signature below. Auslogics Defrag in my opinion is better because:

It does a more comprehensive job at Defragging
It will actually show you what it is doing
At the end of working it will show you how much speed you picked up
You can view a online log of the files that Auslogics defragged

Reboot and let us know how system is running now
