I just built my computer and installed all my software and Vista crashes daily. I get a blue screen and it says something about a "power mismatch" (there could be words or acronyms before and after that and then it dumps memory and re-boots. If it doesn't do that it will just abruptly close a program/game. It happened to Outlook once, most often with a couple of games that shouldn't be graphics intensive. What is going on??

Navigate to: C:\Windows\Minidump folder.
If you see any .dmp files, zip all of them, and attach zipped file to your next reply.

"File not found or read permission"

I get this when I try to zip them. Any tips?

Copy all files, paste them into some other location (desktop?), and zip them from there.

All errors indicate RAM problem.

I'm not there. I have no idea what motherboard it is, what kind of RAM you have installed, and how much RAM.
Did you check mobo's manual?

I have a GA-ER45-UD3LR Mobo with 4gigs RAM (Corsair Twin2x4096-8500C5 G). The manual says it is compatible.

Maybe some stick is bad.
Try to run the computer with 1 stick at a time, or...
Run memtest: http://www.techspot....topic62524.html

I appreciate your help. I'll try that in a little bit. I was wondering, how did you figure that out? Is there something you noticed in the dmp files? What di you use to display it?

I use Windows Debugging Tool.
All errors were related to RAM issues.

Wow, well above my head. I do appreciate it.

Would windows still be displaying 4GB for memory if a stick was bad?
