Hello.

I am having a graphics issue on my grandmothers computer.

The first thing I noticed was when I tried to change her wallpaper background, the background position will only display in "stretch" and when I try to center or tile, the background goes white.

Then I noticed the buttons on her WMP were all white as well.

Then I downloaded Firefox and attempted to change the theme unsuccessfully, also I added the WOT extension and though it seems to have worked, the WOT tiles wont display in a search page.

Also page backgrounds will not load correctly. For example, Netflix has a red background usually, but it appears white. Also Metafilter usually has a green background but it also appears white.

I don't know if these problems are related, and when I did a search I was able to find reasons/solutions for individual problems, but not a similar scenario that included all these issues. I'm at a loss

I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks.

The computer is

Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Create a new user account (Control Panel -> User Accounts) and you may find the issues disappear.

Thank you. That seems to have worked.
What do you think the issue is? Do you think it will transfer over to the new user account?
Thanks again.

User accounts get corrupt in Windows for many reasons. The common sign of a corrupt account is when background gradients, images, and anything that used to look pretty, now looks ugly.
