HI guys ! Ok im not smart with computers, lol, so me the dummy purchased a webcam and downloaded it and before it finished i got an error box that wouldnt go away- windows\system32\HID.DLL , then i shut it down and now i get 2 screens - first is (f-2) & (f-12) then a start up page with options- safe mode, safe mode with networking, & safe mode with prompt, then the micro soft loading bar then a dark screen with my arrow mouse and thats it !!, ive never had a problem with my laptop ever except i do need to replace the battery, but nothing else !, its not slow and has always been a good laptop, can someone help me PLEASE !!! signed im an idiot !! :)

Hey yoboi01,

What is the deal now? Does the computer let you to the login screen at all? Try logging into safe mode when the computer boots up (choose safe mode on that list, or hold down F8 at boot up). If you get on, try opening Start>(in the vista search bar type:)cmd
At the black prompt screen type in: sfc /scannow (note the space between "c" and "/")

Also, since the webcam installer apparently started this problem, try uninstalling it from the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Reply with what you get, and I'll try to help you further. Good luck!
