You may have to get a new hard drive. I have the same computer you do and my hard drive went bad. Do not worry a hard drive is cheap now-in-days. You can have all the stuff on your old hard drive transfered over too. :)

The neat thing about HP's is that you can trade the old ones in for new ones. Kind of like you do with cars. Neat huh? Also best buy will buy back old applicances and computers. :)

When you get your computer working be sure to back up your hard drive with disk or what ever, maybe a portable hard drive.
