When I watch videos, like the ones available on discoverychannel.ca (full episodes), or play games like the ones available on freewebarcade.com everything runs fine for about 10 minutes. Then the game or video becomes choppy and slow. It is unplayable/unwatchable and if I view the task manager I notice that iexplorer.exe is maxing out my cpu usage.

Then reinstall it: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

As crazy as it sounds, I think that worked.

I thought I had tried that before, but that was before I installed the new driver. I'm not completely sold yet, but It is possible the problem has been solved. I'll post again if the problem returns.

Don't beat yourself up, cuz it just happened again. Heartbreaking. It took longer than usual, but the problem remains

In the Malware thread these steps were taken:
1. Removed malware
2. Updated video driver
3. Tried using a generic driver
Am I right, or were other or different steps taken?

Try booting into safe mode, and see if the problem occurs.

It could be an overheating or failing video card. It works well for few minutes then heats up and the problem start .

1: Check if the cooling fan of the video card is working.

2: If you have another video port in your computer try to use it and see what happens.

Does this happen when you play any movie or game, or just flash ones (like from Youtube)?

To make sure that your card isn't overheating, check your fans, and try using the integrated graphics on your mobo if you are using a discrete card. Also click on "Everest Instructions" in my sig. After you choose "Custom Selection" choose only "Sensor" (don't choose anything else)

ya i used to get streaming sporting events using vlc/sopcast and the same problem would occur. I think you are on to something because my laptop gets HOT.

I'm gonna try your tips in the last post and see how it goes
