Some things to note about my pc before we start.
1. windows is not updated-I built this computer about about a year ago and did not activate windows because I was planning on upgrading to windows vista whenever I got the money to purchase it. In the meantime I used a retail copy of xp home that I had for my old computer and did not activate it because I had already activated it on my old computer and, at the time, was planning on using them both. Now I don't need my old pc and would like the copy of xp to run only on this pc. I moved not to long ago and just got my computer hooked up to the internet today so it's missed a few months of updates and the grace period for activating windows has expired so I cant get the new updates, and now I can't activate windows because everytime I try the application to activate windows crashes.
2. I was not able to perform any of the pre-post virus scans and other stuff because I cannot install or run any applications on my computer, currently the only thing that will work is firefox, and it will crash every couple of minutes.
