About 2 months ago, I was having trouble and it turned out that I was infected with a backdoor trojan and malware. I received a lot of help in this forum and was cleaned. I then added more memory to my desktop (Windows XP) to have 1 GB. Things were running better and all was well.

About 3 weeks ago, LOTS of slowness, freezing all the time. Boots easily and somewhat quickly. Desktop loads, but hourglass icon forever and nothing-- can only shut down via powering off. Like a dummy, I thought I was going through a system restore, but actually went through a system recovery instead. Not too much of a big deal b/c most of my files were on external hard drive. But had to reload programs. Now, I can work for about 5 mins. after booting up, and then gets stuck again. I can pretty much do anything in safe mode, though. I'm worried I'm infected again, so thought maybe someone could give some helpful advice to see.
